MENDOCINO California 2020
Maccullum House
Alexandra and Nima’s wedding is a perfect example of unexpected changes adding even more magic to a wedding day. They had always planned to hold their ceremony in San Francisco, where they could recreate a timeless wedding photo of Alexandra’s parents at City Hall, who were married there in the 1980s. But their original reception, a 200+ guest affair in the city, turned into a 15 guest celebration at their favorite Northern California coastal getaway: Mendocino. Not only is Mendocino the spot where they got engaged, it’s home to a bookstore they always visit when in town, Gallery Bookshop. Alexandra received special permission to take photos inside, and the contrast of their elegant wedding numbers against the cozy stacks of books felt poetic. At The MacCallum House, they honored Nima’s Persian heritage by incorporating a Sofreh Aghd, a traditional Persian ceremony filled with items bringing prosperity, sweetness, and happiness to their marriage.
Alexandra is fashion-obsessed, and she carefully chose each and every piece of her ensembles. For their ceremony, she wore a belted Rime Arodaky dress and Isabel Marant crystal fringe earrings, along with a mesmerizing Cartier engagement ring she discovered back in 2016 while flipping through Vogue magazine. She designed her custom wedding gown with The Couturiere in San Francisco, which she paired with classic Sarah Flint pumps. Equally stylish in his own right, Nima wore a Tom Ford tux and matched Alexandra with his own Cartier wedding band. From the locations they chose, to the outfits they wore, and the intimate event they created for their family and friends, every single detail of their wedding held so much significance to their story as a couple.
