Destination Wedding in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico

I live for stories and Breanna & Samuel is no exception. But before I dive into their San Francisco City Hall civil ceremony and their destination wedding in Valle de Guadalupe (wine country of Mexico), near Ensenada, you must hear about the story of how Bre and I met. A few years back I photographed Debi & Tyler’s wedding in Cape Cod. Breanna was one of Debi’s bridesmaids and we got to chatting and I find out she too, lives in San Francisco. There’s always this “cool we’re from the same city” but most of the time the convo stops there. But then we asked each other where we lived and we both said “The Mission”. Okay, the Mission is a decent size neighborhood. When she said she lived at the same cross streets as me I just about passed out. How have I never seen her?! Turns out we’re neighbors, not just a few houses down, or down the block neighbors, but right across the street neighbors, as in I can see their front door from our front room window!

We also had a lot more in common than just being neighbors. We both grew up in San Diego and we both grew up going to Mexico often as kids. But even more so, my dad used to be the pit crew for Baja 500 races and her dad used to race! Wild, right? Fast forward a couple of years and I was honored they hired me to photograph not only their intimate SF City Hall civil ceremony, but also their wedding at Laja, a restaurant in Valle De Guadalupe.

On a personal note, I’m forever grateful for Bre’s dad for taking me on a special mission to get me shrimp tacos! Being a San Diego girl I’ve been spoiled by great Mexican food, especially Baja-style, and the shrimp tacos in Baja are out of this world—yummy breaded goodness with the white sauce. If you don’t know what I’m talking about… I can’t wait to show the way!

Hope you enjoy these photos from both events. Stories like this are the very reason why I love what I do. I love meeting new people. I love sharing experiences. It fills me up! Thanks Breanna & Samuel for having me and I love the story of how we met. xoxo
