E & Jās wedding day was inspired by everything the bride loves most: beautiful flowers, fine food, family, and high fashion, and bringing on Smith + James Events was the perfect way to execute their vision. The day began with a charming Christian-based ceremony at a local church, where a semi-circle of lush florals enveloped the couple as they exchanged vows. Oak and the Owl carried the elegant green and white design through to their reception, running rows of white peonies and flickering tea lights down the length of every table. The venue overlooked the Pacific Ocean, and the combination of seaside views and soaring floral installations made you feel as if you were in the clouds.
One of my favorite details of their day was their tiered buttercream cake, which featured a delicate floral pattern and ruffled piping. The florals on the cake matched the pattern of their green and white china, all of it organically blending with the greenery and blooms surrounding the setting. E wore a timeless off-the-shoulder crepe gown by Pronovias for the ceremony but changed into a playful, shorter number by Nookie for the end of the night. That cheeky bow on the back was exactly my style.
