PROMONTORY 2020/2021
NAPA, CALIF.

Though Francois hails from France and Anne is originally from the East Coast, their stories crossed when they both began working at the Promontory Estate Winery in Napa Valley. Promontory’s patchwork of vineyards, modern architecture, and endless canyon views are absolutely breathtaking, and their celebration was an incredible opportunity to share a place they love with their family and friends. Their day was also the culmination of more than a year of waiting. 2020 travel restrictions led Anne and Francois to marry in a small ceremony at a local park in Napa, with only a few close friends in attendance. Their dog, Crosby, was the center of attention, and Gott’s Roadside catered a picnic lunch. When Heidi from The Wedding Detailor got wind of Anne’s choice to marry instead of wait another year, she whipped up a short dress for her in less than a week. It was a simple, charming afternoon that felt just as meaningful as a grand affair.

Still, Anne and Francois cherish every moment they spend with family, and it was important to them that their loved ones be present for the occasion. In late 2021, they were finally able to hold the larger gathering they had always imagined, with a Catholic ceremony in St. Helena followed by cocktails and a dinner reception at Promontory. The atmosphere was full of elegance and warmth, with an air of effortlessness that made everyone feel welcome. Anne wore a sheath gown with cape sleeves by Carly Cushnie, while Francois wore a grey suit accented by a red tie. The Charter Oak catered dinner, and Elan Artists kept everyone dancing long into the night. It was so incredible to see Anne and Francois finally get to celebrate with the ones they love, especially at a place that holds so much meaning for their personal history.
